Intel’s Museum of Me

By Takuya Oikawa

Intel has created a pretty cool ‘app’ for Facebook.  It takes data from your Facebook and creates a video of a museum.  Of you.  All about YOU.  If you’re active on Facebook, I assume that it’ll be a more comprehensive video, but even if you’re not, I think it’s pretty neat and deserves a bit of notice.

The Louvre it’s not, but still pretty interesting.

Woman’s Rapist Friended Her on Facebook…Whaaa?

When I first saw the title to this, my stomach did that dropping motion that one gets when they’re on a roller coaster…but this also came with those nasty hot flashes you get when you want to vomit.  I know, horrible description, right…but imagine if you were assaulted as a teenager and the perpetrator actually CONTACTED you.  Holy crap, that makes my head hurt.    Honestly, I have the utmost respect for Emily and I am fascinated by the strength of her character as she describes what happened when she spoke to her rapist on the telephone.  Even if it gave me a skeevy feeling.

Seriously McDonald’s…

A distasteful obviously altered image is causing quite a stir on the internet.  The fake ‘sign’ says that McDonald’s will charge black customers $1.50 more per transaction, due to an insurance measure.  Customers have flocked to the internet and twitter to complain, starting a trend “Seriously McDonald’s”.  The corporation has replied with rebuttals stating that the picture is an obvious hoax, and that they value their racial diversity of both their employees and customers.

Thong Th-th-th-thong

I don’t think I’d want to eat at this party…especially if they’re using thongs as serving utensils.

Ahhhh…Sweet Justice

Imagine working at a Bank of America, and being locked out of your job because it was being foreclosed on.  That’s what happened in Collier County, Florida.  The bank sued a family for non-payment of their mortgage (which, by the way, the family never HAD a mortgage, they paid cash).  When the case went to court, a judge ruled in favor of the family and ordered the BoA to pay for the legal fees.  Five months later, the fees were still not paid, and calls and letters were being ignored.  So the family’s attorney had the Collier County Bank of America assets seized, doors locked, and cash in teller’s drawers removed.  Not a good day for them, I’d say.  After an hour, the bank handed over a check for the legal fees.  Yeah, about time someone got money that was due them from the bank.

Yeah…take THAT, ya dirty rotten scoundrels!
