Friday Flash Game of the Week

City Siege 2: Resort Siege is a side scrolling action shoot-em-up flash game that lets you assemble an elite team of soldiers to rescue civilian hostages and kill the bad guys.  The game has a heavy sound track with ironically cute/cartoonish looking characters.  The beginning is fairly fast paced, although in later stages it can become frustrating/annoying if you are attempting to get a gold metal.  You are allowed to have up to 5 units in your team from 12 different units.  The units each have their unique capabilities however I found myself mainly using the spy, commando and heli-r.

Note: do not call an air strike right after you select your unit at the beginning of the stage unless you want it to end badly.

Also, watch for friendly fire.  Try not to fire a rocket at the bad guy when he is surrounded by hostages.

Cat Burglar Caught in the Act

Personally, I would have trained my pet to go after wallets or money…but I guess you can’t argue with free stuff.

Intel’s Museum of Me

By Takuya Oikawa

Intel has created a pretty cool ‘app’ for Facebook.  It takes data from your Facebook and creates a video of a museum.  Of you.  All about YOU.  If you’re active on Facebook, I assume that it’ll be a more comprehensive video, but even if you’re not, I think it’s pretty neat and deserves a bit of notice.

The Louvre it’s not, but still pretty interesting.

Woman’s Rapist Friended Her on Facebook…Whaaa?

When I first saw the title to this, my stomach did that dropping motion that one gets when they’re on a roller coaster…but this also came with those nasty hot flashes you get when you want to vomit.  I know, horrible description, right…but imagine if you were assaulted as a teenager and the perpetrator actually CONTACTED you.  Holy crap, that makes my head hurt.    Honestly, I have the utmost respect for Emily and I am fascinated by the strength of her character as she describes what happened when she spoke to her rapist on the telephone.  Even if it gave me a skeevy feeling.

Seriously McDonald’s…

A distasteful obviously altered image is causing quite a stir on the internet.  The fake ‘sign’ says that McDonald’s will charge black customers $1.50 more per transaction, due to an insurance measure.  Customers have flocked to the internet and twitter to complain, starting a trend “Seriously McDonald’s”.  The corporation has replied with rebuttals stating that the picture is an obvious hoax, and that they value their racial diversity of both their employees and customers.
